CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! All School Mass - Feb. 2nd - Holy Spirit Church- 9:15am
BOOK REPORTS due January 31st
RELIGION OBJ: Students will continue reading and discussing how the Holy Spirit helps us
live as a child of God. Students will also be able to explain how the Holy Spirit helps us
pray. Students will also be engaged in a variety of activities celebrating Catholic Schools Week.
The success of these activities will be measured by teacher observations, participation in
school-wide activities, written and oral work.
READING OBJ: Students will be able to use Inflections: -es (changing f to v and adding -es)
to make irregular plurals. Students will recognize and use these irregular plurals correctly
when reading and spelling them. Students will also be learning how to write a personal
story and friendly letter, identify words that tell how many, and recognize antonyms.
READ 2.03b, 2.11a 2.11b, 2.12a, 2.12b, 2.14a,2.14b, 2.15c,2.19.
MATH OBJ: Students will practice adding two digit numbers with and without
regrouping. Students will also subtract one and two digit numbers without regrouping,
students will add 3 one-digit numbers, students will recognize the names of coins, their
values, and add different amounts of coins and lastly, students will identify time to the quarter
hour. The success of these exercises will be measured by teacher observations, written
work, oral work, and hands-on work. 2.NBT 5,6,7,9, 2.MD7,8.
SCIENCE OBJ: Students will be able to identify the major components of our solar system:
sun, stars, moons, planets and their relationship to one another. Students will be
introduced to the relationships that cause day, night and seasons. (GR2.25, GR 2.26)
The success of these exercises will be measured by student participation in class activities,
oral work, written work, and teacher observations.
SOCIAL STUDIES OBJ: Students will be able to read simple map symbols and other map
components. (key symbols, map title, compass rose, scale,etc... Students will also identify
different means of transportation. The success of these activities will be measured by student
participation in class activities, teacher observations,written and oral work, and hands-on
work. Gr. 2.07, 2.12,
COMMUNICATION ARTS OBJ: Students will be practicing using appropriate listening,
speaking, reading, and writing skills throughout the school year, when participating
in class activities, assignments and projects. GR2. 2.02 (Literature), .05, .06,(writing)
2.06, .07,.08,.09,.10,Speaking GR2.03 .01 - .06, Thinking 2.07 .01, .02 The success of these
activities will be measured by teacher observations, student participation in class activities,
written and oral work.
