RELIGION OBJ: Students will be reading and discussing why we go to Mass.
Students will be able to explain why Catholics attend Mass. Students will also
be able to list the different parts of Mass. (chapter 15)
The success of these activities will be measured by participation in class activities, written
and oral work, and teacher observations.
READING OBJ: Students will be reading and discussing short stories, plays and poems.
Students will be retelling stories, interpreting poems, and reading plays with expression to
improve their overall reading skills and understanding of literary pieces.
READ2.01,2.03b,2.08b,2.08c,2.10.
MATH OBJ: Students will practice subtracting and adding two and three digit numbers
without and with regrouping, add 3 to 4 double digit numbers in a column, and recognize
geometric shapes and determine one-half of a group of objects. The success of these
activities will be measured by teacher observations, written and oral work, and student
participation in assigned activities. (some activities are hands on)

SCIENCE OBJ: Students will continue to write down formal observations of our class-
room caterpillars as they change into butterflies. Students will also be planting popcorn
kernels and write observations, as the kernels begin to sprout. Students will be
able to name the different parts of flowering plants and list what plants need in order to
grow. The success of these lessons will be measured by teacher observations, written, oral
work and hands on activities. GR2.07, GR2.02-2.05
SOCIAL STUDIES OBJ: Students will be able to identify and interpret simple map symbols to
locate places on a variety of maps. Students will be also be able to draw a simple map using
basic map symbols. Students will be able to tell how technology is used to improve maps
and locate things. GR.2.07,2.11. The success of these lessons will be measured by
teacher observations, written, oral and hands on work.
COMMUNICATION ARTS OBJ: Students will be practicing using appropriate listening,
speaking, reading, and writing skills throughout the school year, when participating
in class activities, assignments and projects. GR2. 01-.04 Listening, GR.2.02 Literature .01 -
.15, Writing 2.06 .01 - .02, Thinking GR2.07 .01-.02. The success of all these classroom
exercises will be measured by participation in class activities, written and oral work, and
teacher observations.
